To those who have read Borneo Post on 21st of June, 2009 (and those who hasn't read it):
Father's Day this year was special because we did not celebrate it.
My dad was angry for some reason and he lost the mood for celebration.
Somehow my sister made this Father's Day even more special with an article in the Borneo Post. newspaper.
Written about her and my dad.
Let's take a peek.

From left: Alicia (my sister), my dad and etc...
Let's read what the article says.

Did u read that? "apple of her father's eyes"!!! My first reaction? Laugh out loud. How is she an apple? That, you'll have to find out by yourself.
The truth is, I think my father is rather fair by treating every one of us girls as his apples but not everyone looks like an apple. He wakes us up, by yelling "Che ar! Lak tiam loh! Tak chek ah!" (Wake up! 6am already! Go to school!) and now, he advanced to "Che ar! Cit tiam loh! Zho kang ah!" (Wake up! 7am already! Go to work!). Every morning before school, he'll wake us up. Preparing us breakfast. Sometimes even preparing us food for recess time which we would finish up by lunch for the sake of buying things at the canteen. Lolz.
Then, when we have forgotten something, we'll either call him up and asked him to get it for us or we'll tell him before he drop us at the school early in the morning. Either way, we'll get an earsome of "words of wisdoms" which most of the time contains foul languages that we are already immuned to since we were young. But at the end of the day, we'll still receive the items that we have forgotten including shoes, school bag, note books, pencil case, ribbons, name tags, classroom key, school projects, materials for art class and many many more. We didn't realise how far was our school from home and even when our dad complained, we didn't feel the hardship that he had to face.
Thinking back now, even I would be damn angry if my kids do the same thing to me. With the amount of cars on the road and the jam that we had to face nowadays, it would be impossible to not get annoyed. I'll teach my kids about checklists next time.
For all my father's 69 years of living, about 30 years have been dedicated to waking all of us up. How's that for a daddy? Our father was always the one preparing lunch as well together with my mother and they switch roles in cooking sometimes. He used to be our sole bread winner and now with the help from my brothers n sisters, of course our conditions are better.
I wana thank Papa for all of his sacrifices for all of us and even though he does not know how to express his love (and obviously Ah Noon inherited that from him) we all know that he loves us. Happy Father's Day, Pa. We love you too! Not only your money. Lolz. Just kidding.
To Mama, I'm not forgetting you too. I did not write anything for Mother's Day but I want you to know that even though there are things that you did that we couldn't see as we grew up, you have sacrificed a lot as well. No matter how annoying you can be, I know that you're doing your best in giving the best for this family. Thank you, Ma. We love you!
Papa and Mama are the best!

It has been a day in Kuching
I still feel so insecure
I had my wallet and phone tugged to me
Didn't dare to have the car unlocked
When my dad said "open the car door to let the hot air out"
I hesitated but did as told
Because deep in my heart I know
"This is Kuching, a safe place that I can always count on"
"Nothing's gonna happen. It's just Kenyalang! A place where you grew up having breakfast at!"
"What if something happens? What if somebody with motorbike suddenly come and hit me in the head with a baseball bat? What if someone holds a gun?"
I'm having these conversations in my head.
I'm unstable.
I need to buckle up.
I need to get used to Kuching and feel safe again.
I don't know how to.
Or should I really have the safe feeling again?
So that I can once again go back to KL feeling safe and then having chance for things to go wrong?
I need my friends to convince me again that Kuching is safe.
I miss all my friends.

Sitting down here at LCCT
Facing the fact that I'm finally leaving
Leaving KL
A place so foreign
That I once thought I was familiar with
Being here for more than 1 months
After experiencing things that I didn't think I would've had any chance of experiencing
Made me realize how much I have been protected
By my little town called Kuching
It was almost a joy of happiness that I m finally going home
Also a pain of sorrow that I'm leaving this place where I have almost get used to already
As I write this blog, I feel these two feelings
Mixing together like eggs and sugars in the cake
Now, I'm coming home.
Good bye KL
I'm coming, Kuching!

Today I almost memahuankan my sister’s bf. I couldn’t download the file into Ah Noon’s laptop cos of the maxis broadband that was practically on-off for fun. Then, I had to mahuan Ah Kang to bring me to the cyber café to online, download the file and then print. RM 0.50 per piece. Overall 15 pieces and it cost me RM 7.50. I didn’t know that printing at cyber café is so costly. Luckily they used laser printer, still acceptable. If they use normal inject ink printer, I’ll definitely feel the “beh song” ultimatum. Been drinking the last couple of weeks on Saturdays and I think I was tipsy on the first Saturday. But still, I remember what happened and this proved that I wasn’t drunk. If I was drunk I would’ve forgotten what I’ve said. But most probably that was my limit and that time I wouldn’t be able to drive even though I wasn’t drunk because my balancing was off. Tried really hard to keep the balance and luckily I was still able to walk in a straight line. The second week was okay because I drank really slowly and also a little sip by sip. It was because I was full with Restoran Brothers’ Bak Kut Teh and I couldn’t fit anymore of anything and that includes liquid. After a while and a few hours pass by, I felt a little lighter and could fit more and I drank more. But still, I didn’t wanna be tipsy again as I know I had to wake up early the next morning.
LaserBay is a great place! It’s a pub with a live band. The live band is happening because of the lead singer, the Ah Kua. But too bad for single ladies, no guys to c and girls are taken. Majority of the guys are lao ah pek. Seriously! I don’t know why such a happening pub is filled with ah pek? I really like the live band. They sing from blues, sentimental, slow r&b, pop starting from 10.30pm to rock, r&b, Cantonese, English, Mandarin, and even Thai songs at mid-night. I was really blown away with their performance! But sadly there’s this girl who sings okay but doesn’t have a voice. I would appreciate very much if she asked me to replace her because I know I sing better than her. Lolz!
That’s my clubbing life in KL. Just a few night to lao ah pek pub. Lolz! Btw, LaserBay is at Pandan Indah.

“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And be one traveler, long I stood
Look down as far as I could…
…………………
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And I, I took the one less travelled by.”
The Road Not Taken by Roald Dahl
This poem describes my position now exactly. I am the only Sarawakian from class who has really made the decision to come down to KL with JJ for my Organizational Orientation (Preparation before practical) for two weeks. I had the choice of choosing any organization in Kuching/Kota Samarahan or coming down here to KL which is less traveled by.
I always knew that I have made the right decision. Coming to KL to know more people and to get used to a more hectic life that is what I’m expecting to experience.
The neighbourhood here at the place I’m staying is really friendly too!
You smile to people and people smile back to you.
You talk to the hawker, they’ll talk back to you.
Your handbag get snatched, they’ll try to get it back for you.
I was walking peacefully at the small street behind the condo I’m staying where there are two hawker stalls to the bus station. I am always aware of my bag but this day, thinking that I’ll be walking for a short distance only before reaching the bus station, I brought my fav bag and did not aware until I heard a motor sound coming nearer and nearer to my ear. I thought to myself, “this cannot be happening” and I was right, I was at that time a snatch thief victim. My bag got snatched and my auto reaction was to pull back but I fell to the ground and I let my bag go. Instead, my hand got scratched and both my palm got a little bruise from the fall. I tried to chase but the motor was too fast. There was a guy in red shirt who tried to chase together with me. Then there was a guy who tried to chase with his motor as well but lost the sight of the motor. I didn’t even think of looking at the license plate which is another regret felt. But it could’ve been a fake plate anyway. Guess I’ve never fell so hard on the ground before. I felt angry, dissatisfied, regret for bringing my bag along, lost cos I’ve lost together with the bag the external hard disk that my bro left me and also my wallet. Inside my wallet, there’s MyKad, License, ATM card and some other business cards.
After that, I called up JJ to tell him what have happened. Oh yea, luckily my phone was in my pocket together with my house key. He reminded me to cancel my ATM card which I did after that. Then later in the evening, his friend came back and he brought me together with JJ to the police station to make a written report. Oh yea, calling 999 after being snatched will not work as they will ask you to go make a written report anyway. Then, we were transferred to the police station at Pudu.
Today, I’ll have to go to get my IC and License done. Urgh…
Remember the situation at Waterfront Kuching at night time which is very disturbed and full of snatch thieves and pick pockets? That’s the situation that I have always avoided which explains why I seldom go there. But in KL, there’s no place for you to label it like that because the whole KL is full of it. Snatch thieves, pick pockets, robbers and even murderers. Received tones of email warnings about the tactics used in KL. I used to ignore them because I knew that it won’t happen yet in Kuching as things will surely affect KK, Sabah first because dumbasses from KLs think that Sarawak is in Sabah. Why do I think so? Because I was transferred by KWSP to do my practical in KK when they said that I was placed according to my billing address. But now, I know I should take note of them.
I feel that my arm is a little bit dislocated now.
My 2 cents:
Snatch thief should never be given a chance. The police said this kinda case is normal and hard to catch. Dumb ass. This kind of mentality is what brought more and more snatch thieves in the country!! Imagine that there is not even a CCTV in my area! They have CCTV everywhere in Singapore! Which is why they can catch anyone who spits and make them do social work. Malaysia needs more improvement. And til now, I’ve only seen JB making arrests on snatch thieves. What happens in KL??? The cops sleeping on their job?
P/S: Don’t pm me and tell me to be extra careful next time because I will. Don’t tell me “I told you so” cos I heard that from my dad already and I don’t need anymore of it. And I wanna thank Ivan, my good friend for telling me where to make my IC and being concern. I wanna also thank Ah Chai for driving me to the police station. I wanna knock my own head of for coming down to KL without knowing exactly what else to expect. If I get murdered one day down the road, I wanna curse all the criminals in KL to die one second after commited the crimes. I wanna become Kira now.

Once again, I can't fall asleep. I have no idea why. I'm pretty sure I had an early wake up call from JJ today at 11am. Lolz. I call that early cos I'd normally wake up 5am in the morning to prepare breakfast and lunch for takeaway and then sleep back at around 7am and then wake up again at 2pm. That had been pretty much my weekdays life these few days. I guess I'd been standardized by my biological clock to think that 11am is early.
KL trip this time has really opened up my eyes about KL. When I was here previously by myself and my family members, the only place that I knew the name of was MidValley which I went by KTM from Nilai with my badminton team, Times Square+Sungei Wang+Bukit Bintang which I went by monorail led by my sister which I had no idea about the routes and then Puchong+Cheras+USJ which my bro brought us by car and I could barely recognise the street.
One week here, I know how to get to Times Square+Sungei Wang+Bukit Bintang by LRT from the place I'm staying now and transit by monorail. I also know how to walk on foot to those places and I found out that if you're not tired and lazy, monorail is a waste of money! Lolz. If you wanna go to Times Square and after that Sungei Wang, skip the monorail and save RM1.20. Travel on foot. The best thing is you won't even have to sweat! Well, unless if it's a hot day and you, like every other KL people (or at least those who migrated there) don't use any umbrella, you'll sweat at least a bit. I know how to get to Serdang and I've been to a pasar malam at Cheras apart from Petaling Street. Oh yea, did I tell you that I tried Taufu Busuk aka Chao Taufu aka Smelly Toufu? It was a great experience but after smelling it from afar for a long time, I'll get really dizzy. Eating it isn't a big task at all! We were given pickles which were more like Kimchi and pepper sauce which covered the taste of sourness of the toufu. It wasn't really sour though. Maybe I have yet to try smellier ones.
Coming to KL, instead of succumb to the culture here of not bringing any umbrella and rely fully on sunblock, I'd rather save the hassle of using a sunblock cos I didn't bring any and at the same time save the money to buy it, I bring an umbrella everywhere I go. The trick is to bring the small one and stuff it inside my handbag or JJ's bag.
I've been to Suria KLCC too but I haven't been on the bridge. Need to be determined to be on that mission as I would have to wait as early as 6.30am to be the first few to get the chance to view KL on top of that bridge. The tix are free but limited. The counter opens at 8.30am. But since it's a tourist attraction and KL is full of tourists, I don't think the line would be short.
Rude Warnings:
#1 You see queues at the monorail door, it's just for show, someone from somewhere will overtake you and just barge in without caring about those who wanna go out. Calling them pig-headed would've insulted the pigs. If people don't go out, how can you fit in when the monorail is already like canned sardines?
#2 When people bump on you, instead of saying "Sorry", they'll say "Oh my god". I guess "Ohmygod" has to be a word somewhere in the Oxford dictionary which means "Sorry". Gotta go check it out.
#3 When you tell the taxi driver (not all) where you wanna go and they don't go there, they'll just look away and drive away without even saying "No" nor shaking their heads nor giving any signs at all. I guess they must've been in a rush or something and skipped the manner part.
Mannered Warnings:
#1 Those selling pirated dvds are mannered
#2 Pasar malam at Cheras' salesmen are mannered
#3 Security guards at Cheras are mannered
Why do I emphasise on Cheras alone? 'Cos I live here. But where? That shall remain a secret. I'll be here for a month or so. I'll be leaving this monorail life very soon cos I'll move to Rawang in a week time. Before that I'll go to Perak with my friend staying at her place. She wants to bring us visiting. Who's us? JJ & I.
Done Checklist:
#1 Tried Chou Taufu
#2 Went to Cosmo World and had the ride of my life. I mean MY LIFE! Scared till I was saying "Oh my God" which I was pretty sure that it did not mean "Sorry".
#3 Tried the famous Taman Connaught's Nasi Lemak Ayam
#4 Went to Pasar Malam
#5 Bought souvenirs
#6 Ate Xiao Long Bao at the restaurant next to Citytel. Ivan's treat. Really GREAT!
#7 Had Dunkin' Donuts without dunking on anything
#8 Watched a movie at GSC MidValley
#9 Ate wantan mee (same like kanlou mian at Sabah)
#10 Met up with Jenna & Ivan.
I present to you Smelly TouFu!!

I don't know how to put into words
But I know I have to pour it out
JJ is not with me now
I need a hug and a comfort
Telling me that it's gonna be okay
But I just feel so sad and helpless
Suddenly my O2 being postponed to end of May
or early of June
I don't wanna come and go
I just wanna cry
Now I'm in KL di.
Such a sucky moment for me.
I wanted the challenge and this is what I have to go through.
Actually it's not such a big deal.
Choices of either staying here at my bro's place
or go back and buy another tix of to and fro.
Tired.
Just cooked myself a healthy lunch
Lost my appetite
Didn't thought it'd be this way.
Errrgh...

Notice how annoying the Photocopy Shop can be?
Not talking about the shop design, nor the shop machines but YES, the shop SERVICES.
Doors open....
DE: (waiting by the counter........)
still waiting
still waiting
DE starts to get annoyed
DE: "excuse me."
still seems pretty invisible
wait
wait
wait
wait
wait
wait
suddenly a lady walked to the counter trying to reload for herself and saw DE but ignored her.
DE starts to get really impatient and said, " Saya tulis sendiri la order ini. "
THEN she started to entertain DE. What a lousy service! Even the boss! I wanted to pay for the manilla cards which are already in my hands but he and his son ignored me! so, I said, "don't want money is't?" and the son dared to reply "want"..
Pissed off!
I cant find the picture on the internet probably cos it sucks!!!
JINKI photocopy shop!! AnYWHERE in KUCHING OR KOTA SAMARAHAN!! your service is really bad and you need Employee Assistance Program.
